AEG is part of the Electrolux Appliances group, specialising in the production of household devices. Since its foundation in 1883, AEG has been at the forefront of new product development, starting with the first portable electric drill. The innovations introduced by the German company were not limited to technology but expanded to product design, embracing the philosophy of harmony of form and function, thanks to the contribution of architect Peter Behrens. After more than a century, the brand continues to provide innovative, high-performance solutions in the household appliances sector. AEG's design excellence has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the iF Design Awards for the dishwasher with QuickSelect technology, the AEG SensePro stovetop and the PURE F9 cordless vacuum cleaner; and the Red Dot Design for the QuickSelect dishwasher and the AEG AutoDose washing machine.

AEG appliances- the meeting of design and technology

AEG kitchen appliances are part of the Take Taste Further programme that seeks to preserve and enhance the taste of food. The AEG catalogue offers state-of-the-art technology to prepare food to professional standards, from fridges to hoods, via ovens and stovetops. The ProFresh range of refrigerators uses AEG's patented Twintech® Total No Frost technology that separates air circulation between fridge and freezer. Special sensors regulate temperature, keeping it constant, while software manages cyclical defrosting. Regarding cooking, the Totalflex® range offers complete freedom thanks to the adaptive glass induction stovetop, which replaces classic cooking zones by automatically adapting temperatures to the type of pan used. The Flexbridge® induction stovetop simultaneously allows cooking with several pots, programming the different cooking zones. The tops in the Flexbridge® range dialogue with the HOB2HOOD® pendant hood, which automatically switches on and adjusts as required. Suitable for open spaces, islands and peninsulas, the COMBOHOB Flexbridge® model has an integrated hood. SteamPro multifunction steam ovens complete the kitchen catalogue. They offer flexible choices from steam cooking with three different levels depending on the dish to vacuum cooking.

AEG washing machines and dishwashers

AEG's washing appliances include built-in or freestanding dishwashers and the entire Laundry Range. Dishwashers are equipped with QuickSelect technology to set programmes semi-automatically. The ComfortLift® system is the only system in the world that allows users to raise the lower basket to place or remove dishes without stooping. The new washing machines, dryers and washer-dryers are presented in the Care More programme and the Care Label project for correctly maintaining clothes, linens and fabrics. The top-of-the-line machine is the Series 9000 Softwater model, equipped with an exclusive technology that softens water thanks to an ion exchange filter. Using the My AEG Care App, the washing machine can be operated in tandem with the Series 9000 tumble dryer, perfectly coordinated from an aesthetic point of view. In addition to the innovative functions of previous models (such as the AbsoluteCare® system that allows the most delicate garments to be dried as if they were flat), the latter integrates 3DScan technology, a sensor that detects residual humidity to adjust the length of the programme and guarantee complete drying.

AEG, in the household appliance business for over a century

The history of Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft, better known today as AEG, goes back more than 130 years. Initially founded in 1883 as Deutsche Edison-Gesellschaft (DEG), the company took the name AEG in 1887. The founder, Emil Rathenau, was among the first to introduce assembly line production in Germany, aiming to innovate and rationalise the industrial process. From its beginnings with electric light bulbs, the company soon specialised in electrical appliances for industrial use. Innovation also came with the brand's communications and design sector when, in 1907, the company began working with Peter Behrens, who became art director. The architect, whose motto was 'perfect in form and function', was responsible for product design, the brand's visual identity and architectural plans for factories, including the groundbreaking AEG Turbinenhalle in Berlin in exposed steel, concrete and glass. AEG products have a strong and recognisable identity. The brand is associated with quality, reliability and innovation. The creation of new products followed one after the other, moving from the strictly industrial to the domestic sphere. In 1910, AEG launched the first electric cooker, followed by the first electric refrigerator. The first washing machine, the built-in refrigerator and the fridge-freezer came after World War II. Today, the brand, part of the Electrolux Group since 2004, continues to pursue its dynamic, industry-leading vision. ... More ... less
