"For Aurélien Barbry designing is an existential exercise. An exercise where you think about the most simple things in you daily life and ask yourself why you do like you do or how it could be done differently.
"When designing a chair, you have to ask yourself the simple question - what is it to sit down? You have to do that in order to create an alternative to the reality that already exists. Chairs, tables, vases, lamps, knife and forks - everything has been created a million times before. So it is about perceiving each item as a creative platform for your own ideas and to challenge these items's universal form, so that you can create a new aesthetic and unique expression."
