01/08/2024 - It's summer, and if we're not already soaking up the sun, we're dreaming about it. Spanish brand Diabla helps turn those sun-filled daydreams into reality with loungers that range from hybrid air-mattress solutions usable in and around the pool to deck chairs and chaise longues. Whether on a private terrace or at the beach, the brand's offerings enhance the outdoor experience with vibrant, ergonomic designs that focus on contemporary aesthetics, durable materials, ultimate relaxation and just plain fun.

New this year is the Cacao line, featuring a cleverly designed PVC air mattress. This versatile element can be used on the water or the ground or mounted on a specially designed aluminium chaise longue structure. Lightweight and portable, it is a contemporary and playful riff on Mies by the multidisciplinary Odos design studio, whose work is “based on a common search for new basics and on the combination of functionality, creativity, and aesthetics, as they aim to offer optional design solutions to their clients. We believe in strong ideas and passionate work, whatever the scale of the product or the location. We find creativity enriching in all its forms”.

Trip, designed by José A. Gandía-Blasco and Borja García, is the brand's most mobile outdoor furniture collection. Made of lightweight aluminium tubing, the foldable pieces can be taken anywhere and stored in the smallest of spaces. The recliner has three positions - 110°, 115° and 120° - making it perfect for sunbathing, reading or even dozing. The Trip Sexy Hammock, ideal for serious beach chilling, rethinks the classic beach hammock. José A. Gandía-Blasco says: "Beauty has to be functional in every piece of furniture. I like to think of pieces that have been in the collective imagination for a long time, which is why they easily connect with people. Redesigning them brings them closer to the current user".

Two other chaise longues complete the range. Valentina Up, part of the collection of the same name, now has distinctive V-shaped legs that support a surface completed by plump cushions filled with polyurethane and memory foam. “The idea of raising the chaise, sofa, and lounge chair with legs was the response to a need. This type of furniture is more comfortable at a certain height, sitting down is easier” explains its creator, Alejandra Gandía-Blasco. The low 356 Lounger - inspired by the first Porsche 356 cars of the 1950s - is made from durable and resistant 100% recyclable polyethene, making it particularly ergonomic and comfortable for a wide range of uses.
