Hand showers and number of castings

Flow rate of the hand showers: how to avoid wasting water

Like overhead showers, the flow rate of the hand showers varies depending on the mains pressure. For each hand shower, the flow rate diagrams in the data sheets specify the limit flow rate below which a homogeneous and comfortable spray cannot be guaranteed. On the market today there is a wide choice of hand showers with reduced flow thanks to their design or specific devices such as flow or flow limiters, placed inside them. For the smartest models, water consumption is reduced by up to 4 l/min, saving you money.

Shower maintenance and cleaning

To avoid the formation of halos and the accumulation of bacteria, it is first of all important to try to clean the hand shower after each use, even simply with a soft cloth and then dry it perfectly.
The problem that most affects the hand showers, however, is the accumulation of limescale which, if not treated properly, can prevent the normal flow of water from escaping from the shower nozzles.
This is a common inconvenience, which may occur more or less frequently depending on the hardness of the water, i. e. the amount of soluble salts and metals present in it. Regular cleaning of the hand shower will certainly slow down the deposit of limescale particles, but if this is not enough, it is advisable to use chemical or natural anti-limescale products (such as vinegar or lemon).
In the hand showers with an anti-limescale system, the nozzles are made of silicone to simplify the elimination of accumulated limescale, ensuring greater durability of the product. The plate is easy to clean and convenient to remove in case of maintenance or replacement.
