Born in Paris in 1986, Marta Bakowski is a French-Polish Designer specialized in the work of color and materials; two elements that she often places at the starting point of her projects. Graduated in Product Design from Central Saint Martin’s School (2009) and the Royal College of Arts (2011) in London, she then joined for two years the studio of Designer Hella Jongerius in Berlin as her assistant. In 2013, she returned to Paris to settle her own studio with a hybrid approach to design, working on both industrial, artistic and handmade projects involving craftsmanship. Her objects are produced by brands such as Roche Bobois, La Chance, Ligne Roset, Designerbox and Maison Matisse.
The studio also involves a large part of its work in material, color and pattern research. In 2015, Marta Bakowski developped the Cosmos Concrete, a high-end decorative and fully customizable concrete which was used recently for the design of retail furniture for Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche department store in Paris.
