In fact, the classic washbasin column performs the dual function of supporting the washbasin and as a design element that evokes a sober but elegant environment.
In small spaces, however, choosing a half-pedestal can make a significant contribution to reducing overall dimensions. In fact, being fixed directly to the wall or to the washbasin support, the half-pedestal hides the system, leaving the floor space free. This makes it easier to clean the wall and the perimeter below.

Washbasin columns in traditional or innovative materials

The material traditionally used in bathroom furniture is ceramic, a classic choice that is at the same time very current.
For this reason, again, the choice usually falls on the ceramic washbasin pedestals. Just like the washbasins, the pedestals are also available in different colour variants that lend themselves to creating special effects that can better connote the bathroom furnishing style.
Quite common are also the resin washbasin columns, a material with particular technical characteristics, which allow to obtain very thin thicknesses, able to satisfy a taste more oriented towards modern shapes and preferring a contemporary style bathroom.
In some cases, especially when it comes to monobloc washbasins, the column can also be veneered with materials other than simple ceramics to create interesting colour contrasts.
